Texas Stream Team

Texas Stream Team is the parent organization of Bobcat Stream Team. Bobcat Stream Team is the Texas State University student chapter of Texas Stream Team and works to bring the Texas Stream Team mission to the students of Texas State.

Texas Stream Team is a statewide organization that operates out of the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment and is dedicated to understanding and protecting the 191,000 miles of waterways in Texas.

San Marcos River Foundation and San Marcos River Rangers

The San Marcos River Rangers operate out of the San Marcos River Foundation and are the foremost water quality coordinators for the City of San Marcos.

With over 20 years of monitoring experience, the River Rangers manage and coordinate all monitoring spots on the San Marcos River. Bobcat Stream Team refers certified water quality community scientists to the River Rangers so that they can get an assigned, monthly monitoring site.

The Department of Geography and Environmental Studies

Bobcat Stream Team is an official student organization of the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies at Texas State University. Bobcat Stream Team receives yearly funding from the Geography Department, as well as assistance with marketing and outreach.

BST also nominates a winner for the annual Bobcat Stream Team Award for Excellence in Water Quality Community Science. This award is presented every year at the Geography Alumni Reunion which is hosted by the Geography Department.

Texas State Environmental Service Committee

The Environmental Service Committee (ESC) is an on-campus committee of faculty, staff, and students that fund environmental and sustainability projects proposals submitted by students and student organizations through the environmental service fees paid by students every semester. Bobcat Stream Team is a registered student organization at Texas State University. Texas State University provides Bobcat Stream Team with meeting spaces, officer training, miscellaneous funding, and more.

Bobcat Stream Team works to consistently uphold the values and objectives that Texas State University has for its student organizations. As a part of this effort, Bobcat Stream Team attends a yearly Risk Management session provided by the Student Organizations Council.
